DEATH AND CANON UPDATE.
DEATH AND CANON UPDATE |
For IC purposes, death and canon update will work similarly on Erku. Dead bodies are quickly collected by robots, and characters who must canon update will be inexplicably drawn to the ocean, wading further out to sea until they disappear beneath the waves. After one week of absence, characters will find themselves respawning in the ocean, washing up onto the beach in the same manner as new arrivals. Characters who died or disappeared might feel headache and pain or stiffness in the areas of the injury that killed them. Subsequent deaths or disappearances will result in discovery of wooden limbs, exposed bone, weakness in sunlight, and other grotesque mutations that last for one day per number of deaths/disappearances. If they are not discovered by friends or passing Islanders, robots will collect them from the beach and usher them either to hospital for examination, OR to the beachside Laid Bare Spa for an invigorating bath. Immunity from death cannot be requested as an Augur reward, however, bingo squares may be used to reverse or shorten the effects of respawning. For canon updates and deaths of an (ahem) erotic nature, players may choose to opt out of any or all of these adverse effects for their characters. Reporting of deaths and canon updates is not required or tracked by mods, but you may optionally list such events here for your future reference! Death ReportCanon Update ReportN A V I G A T I O N |

Canon: Critical Role (Mighty Nein)
Character: Caleb Widogast
Respawn date: 8/9
New canon point: Episode 141, Epilogue
Summary of changes: With roughly a year between his previous canon point and this one, Caleb has gained three levels (from a 13th to 16th level wizard) and become that much more skilled with magic, he has been ensnared by and then saved the world from an eldritch horror living city, has traversed planes, has reinstated trust in and opened up to the idea of a romantic relationship with Essek, and has defeated and turned in his abuser and former teacher, forcing him to finally stand trial for his crimes. But perhaps most importantly, he has chosen to forgo his long-time goal of going back in time to save his parents just when it finally seemed possible, destroying the means to do so and deciding to make amends not by changing the past, but by improving the future for others.
